Type 2 Diabetes And Blood Glucose Blood Sugar And How To Monitor It

I've always worried that I would get type 2 diabetes.

My mother had diabetes that turned into type 2 after her pregnancy, and so did my grandmother. When I was 44, my symptoms started. I had to wake up each hour to go to the bathroom. I was the manager of a non-profit organization, and was with a 40-hour or more per work week.

I lived with symptoms for around four months. It finally got to the point where I was feeling extremely sick and exhausted. That forced me to go to the doctor to determine what was wrong.

My doctor did a physical examination, measured my blood pressure, weight, and conducted an A1c sugar test. My A1c was 12.5%, which is way more than the norm. My doctor advised me that, "If you stay on this path, you're bound be doing some damage to yourself. You must change your habits and look better.

Aside from my job I was also healthy. My diet and fitness regimen was the only thing I was focused on in my first three months of treatment. My doctor asked me to keep a journal of my food intake so read more he could monitor my improvement and make any needed adjustments. He also gave me instructions to work out more. My A1c was at 10% when I returned three months later.
